This is a Japanese WWll time period Naval officer`s tanto in kaigun-tanken mountings. The blade is unsigned, hira-zukuri shape with bohi engravings, WWll time period ca. 1940 era made blade. The blade is arsenal made, in old polish, shows fine scratches but no rust, no stain and in good condition. The temper line is wavy chusuguba temper and has deep temper at the point. There is no bend, no nick, no ...crack and cutting edge is sharp. The scabbard is ray-skin covered scabbard, no tear, no dent, no crack, no bend and in mint condition. The handle is tight fit, brass wire wrapping no cut, no loose and in good condition. Lock mechanism works fine. It measures 8+3/8" cutting edge, 17 mm width, 4 mm thickness at the notch and 17+1/4" in mountings. Shipping is $12 priority in U.S. Payment dues within 3 days auction end.
