This is a Japanese WWll Naval officer`s sword in kaigunto mountings. The blade is unsigned, shinogi-zukuri shape, WWll time period ca.1940 era made blade. The blade is in old polish, shows fine scratches, light stains but no rust and in good condition. The temper line is wavy kogunome with konie active temper pattern and has deep temper at the point. ... There is no bend, no nick, no crack and cutting edge is sharp. The scabbard is large ray-skin covered wood scabbard with patented kojiri, shows aged lacquer loss but no tear, no dent, no crack, no bend and in good condition. The handle is tight fit, tsuka-ito wrapping is no cut, no loose also in good condition. Tsuba and seppa are matched number 701 stamped. It measures 26+1/2" tip to the guard, 25+5/8" cutting edge, 1+1/4" width, 7.5 mm thickness at the notch and 38" in mountings. Shipping is $25 priority in U.S. Payment dues within 3 days auction end.
