The three-digit manufacturing code "r l n +" indicates these are produced during war-time by Carl Zeiss, a top quality maker of field binoculars.
Lens are excellent and bring in views from a good distance away as though they were up close to the viewer. Exterior body has some minor scratch
damage and a previous owner wrote their initials in permanent mark...er on the stem, however this is barely noticeable unless you hold the binocs atthe right angle in order to see it. The right lens has a horizontal reticule pattern with vertical bars used to calculate distance. The focus adjustment
functions very well. The neck strap is made of cowhide leather and in decent to good condition, with some folding in parts of it.
The leather case is also made of cowhide leather. It is not the original case that came with the binocs, however they fit well inside it and the case includesa flap compartment for holding maps.
Other than the minor exterior cosmetic damage, the pair of binoculars is in really good to excellent condition and has been tested multiple times for viewingeffectiveness. You will definitely enjoy these once you're out in the field viewing ducks or watching zebra while out on safari.
