Late 1800 ' S Early 1900 ' S American Soda Fountain Co. Silver Plated Straw Holder

Silver plated straw holder marked Am Soda Ft Co as shown. I am assuming this was for straws but perhaps one of the many paper cup or dish sort of pieces early soda fountains used. The rim is decorated with stars so it was clearly intended to display something in public view.
Piece measures just under 6 inches tall.
Piece is in good used condition. There are a number of small dents I point out in the photos. You can reach inside this so the dents c...ould be pushed out with strong fingers. Piece is tarnished and will need to be thoroughly polished when buyer recieves it. It has some nicks, scratches and wear but overall pretty good.
