Two (2) scarce early original vintage “OFFICIAL U.S. MARINE CORP PHOTOS” Marine Crop airplane mechanics reading planes for combat missions.
Photo One shows a Marine ground crewman loading 50 caliber machine gun ammunition in the wing of a Grumman torpedo bomber at Bougainville airstrip in the Solomon Islands.
Second photo shows Marine mechanics labor all night to ready this plane for the morning’s mission on Guadalcanal.
Photographs measure 8 x 10 inches and ...are in excellent condition with no bends, tears, or creases and are very sharp and have strong tones with good contrast and clarity (see scans). There are no bends or creases and the images have strong tones with great contrast and clarity.
