This is a cabinet card photo of a man identified on the back as, “Captain W.L. Thompson”. The inscription reads, “Living for the Lost, Portland, Oregon.” I presume he is a captain in the Salvation Army. The photo was taken by Fortin in Walla Walla, Washington, ca. 1889-93. The mount card stock used by Fortin was formerly used by Broderick & Co. in Walla Walla with the imprint of this studio showing through at the top of the image. Image has a few light stains, otherwise... good condition with good contrast and clarity. No bends.Overall size: 4 1/4" x 6 1/2".
