Vintage restored Danish late 1940s MONTBLANC 226 PiF fountain penOversized pen ~ Awesome 1940s Art Deco designOffered for your consideration this evening is a nice vintage Montblanc pen from the 1940sMONTBLANC No. 226 Jet Black & GFMFountain Pen.HistoryMade in Denmark in the late 1940s.The cap has a twin bands at the cap lip like all 22x/24x series pens and a beautiful Art deco Skyscraper-type stepped clip. The cap has is slightly streamlined, with a button... cap top inlaid a white Montblanc snowflake logo. Button filling mechanism (this model was also available in the piston-filler version, model no. 24x)This is the largest pen in the 2xx line-up.Item condition:Overall, the pen’s in user grade condition. There is some shrinkage to the plastic and the gold trim has some wear. Nib has a crack to the base but this does not affect functionality.Imprints on the cap:MONT [logo] BLANCThe filling system:Patented Montblanc button filler.To fill, simply unscrew the Blind Cap; place the nib in ink so that the lower part of the section is also immersed. Press the filler button 2-3 times to fill the pen. Remove the nib from ink bottle. Wipe the pen point and section with paper towel. Replace the blind cap by screwing it back on to the barrel.All done. Original Montblanc No. 6 nib – Firm, Fine (F) grade for everyday writing.As mentioned before, the nib has a crack at the base (inside section) but this will not affect functionality. However, this does render the pen user grade.
