Offered here is a very lovely 4/4 violin that sounds as good as it looks...the sound as good as the wood is beautiful. I offered one like it over a month ago and that buyer was VERY PLEASED at the Buy It Now Price of $1299. Read the feedback he left. This violin is just as nice! The violin bears a faux Testore label dated from the 1700s. As there is no grafted neck, I assume it to be made in or around 1840 in my opinion. It is quite possibly Italian from the look of the varnish. It is ...a master made violin where ever it was made and with great attention to detail.This violin has no real problems at all and is in excellent condition with NO CRACKS, but a lot of scratches, scuffs and scrapes to the varnish one would expect from a violin of this age. The pegs don't match but work fine. The instrument is extremely playable and requires no further work. I even put good strings on it. The sound is HUGE and warm, a true solo violin with which any professional would be happy!!! This violin has fine construction. The wood is tight fine grain spruce on the table and incredible lovely flamed maple on the ribs, back, neck. Violin shops in the USA might retail this violin for $3, 500. I believe it is worth every penny of that. NOW YOU CAN OWN IT FOR LESS! The violin is sold as is and as pictured. The violin comes WITHOUT BOW.It will be shipped in an old case.
