Gerstner & Sons 11drawer oak machinist chest/box in complete and very good to excellent as found condition.(Please note that this machinist box, as mentioned, is in as found condition.Machinist chest has been wiped down with a damp cloth with no attempts made forany restoration or other cleaning.) Please see photos.As pictured in the photos, the upper part of the machinist chest is a slightly lighter color oak resulting from th...e box being open and close to a window with sunlight. No attempts has been made to stain or modify the woods color in any way. It comes to you as found for your cleaning and restoration.Pleasenote that this great machinist box comes with a 1951 machinery’s handbook thatfits perfectly in the upper center 11th drawer. It appears this book has been inthis drawer for many, many years. Also included are 4 decimal equivalent information plates and cards attached to the inside panels the box. Also as foundThecabinet and drawers are oak with a brass maker’s plaque on the bottom drawer.The box is line green felt throughout. There is a small green mirror on theinside upper back cover of the top that is in good condition. All the drawersand front panel slide easily. Themachinist chest measures approximately 20" x 15 3/4" x 91/2". Asmentioned above this terrific H. Gersten and son machinist chest is in as foundcondition and comes to you directly from a machine shop that dates back to the1920s.(The Machine shop dates back to the 1920s, not the machinist tool box.)PLEASE NOTE THAT THE CLOSE-UP LENS ONTHE CAMERA SOMETIMES DISTORTS THE ANGLES OF THE PIECES.
