THE CLOCKThis is a top quality early second empire bronze ormolu portico mantle clock. This clock has some lovely details with bronze ormolu pierced patterned mounts to the front. 4 thick bronze ormolu pillars sitting each side of the bronze base holding the main clock head in place along with the ormolu bronze top structure, all pillars have bronze collets to the top and bottom to finish them off. Very eye catching clock and extreamly good quality giving it that wow factor look. The ...clock comes with its winding key and bronze half moon pendulum which swings visibly inbewtween the bronze pillars. Date: 1850’s Height: 17 inches Width: 8 inches Depth: 4.5 inchesDIALSuperb 2 tone Dial with a silvered finish around the edge and an embossed bronze ormolu center. The dial has Roman numerals and black moon hands typical of the perios 2nd empire.MOVEMENTFrench 8 day bell striking movement which strikes on the half and full hour counting the hours. The movement is fully working and has just undergone an oil service.
