6" jaws! 156 lbs.
The small front plate around the screw that says PARKER has a chip off the end and when we found this old monster vise it also had a cracked slide. We brought it to an excellent shop who welded the sleeve up very nicely for us. The "slide" is the hollow rectangular piece that the screw turns inside of. It was the top of this part that was cracked at the rear (the farthest from the jaws). The crack was ...on the top so one of the photos shows that surface very well. The crack repair was very well done structurally and cosmetically. You would never know the repair was made without disassembling the vise and somehow looking inside that slide. The original soft steel PARKER jaws have some marks on the tops but still retain most of their gripping surfaces. They close and meet nicely.
The vise cycles smoothly through its range. We gave the beast the traditional black enamel finish and it is ready to hold fast whatever you may choose to put in the massive 6 inch jaws.
It's local pick up only but if you arrange the shipping we will be happy to work with you.
