Antique 19th century linen and silk work sampler by Marian Sampson ?. This sampler is completely charming with fine quality stitch work throughout, The upper section of the linen is stitched with flowers and the following verse which reads: Be not wise in thine own eyes fear the lord and depart from evil. The other side reads: The eyes of the lord are in every place beholding the evil and the good, trees and flowers, trees and flowers, the little girls name just above the house and two... birds, please see photos. The sampler is framed in a antique Oak frame with a gold frame under the glass.Size: The sampler is: 13" x 17" and in the frame is: 18 1/4" x 22 1/4" .Time Period: Undated early 19th century.Marks or Hallmarks: Please see photos.Condition: The sampler shows very little wear but has fading from age, the frame shows light wear from age and storage, the sampler looks to have the original antique glass with tiny bubbles, over all the sampler looks great!
