Beautiful 7” by 9” letter dated 11/3/1965 written to Rep. Seymour Halpern and signed by President Lyndon Johnson. In the letter President Johnson congratulates Rep. Halpern over the passage of a recent coinage legislation and encloses a new quarter as a memento. Rep. Halpern, although a Republican, was a stalwart liberal who championed many of Johnson’s “Great Society” programs and was an ally in the House.
