This is a lovely, elegant, sensual Rookwood vase in the "iris glaze" by the noted artist Ed Diers, whose work at the pottery began in 1896. The Roman numeral two on the base indicates a very early piece - 1902.
The vase is just out of a North Carolina estate, and it is in excellent condition. I consider the "crazing" appropriate for the age of the piece and finish of the glaze.
7 1/8 inches tall.
