Rookwood Art Pottery KATARO SHIRAYAMADANI 7" Vase, c. 1927 943E.
This vase is a donation from an older, well traveled gentleman in our club. When I asked him for the provenance he sent me the following: - 6 vases from Rookwood Pottery were acquired over a period of time from the late 60’s up to mid-nineties. Two of them were gifts from a collector, Paul Eaton, a former colleague who has passed away. (he was a professor at Purdue University).The pottery was given ...to Carol after Paul learned she liked the pottery and had purchased a few pieces and he had duplicates. The signature on the floral vase is Kataro Shirayamadani.Ebay suggests I start this auction at $1, 141.00 based on other sales of similar pottery. I am not well versed at all in pottery and am starting at $999. Thank you for looking! I will list the other vases soon. Please see pics and examine carefully. I do not see any flaws or chips. It is a very lovely piece.I am a seasoned Ebayer with over 3, 000 positive feedback ratings so I take selling very seriously.
