Very Rare Vintage Omega Seamaster 300 Big Triangle Ref. 165. 024

The case is in very nice condition and retains original factory brushing/polishing on the lugs. There are a few dings to the bottom of the lower lugs, not visible when the watch is on the wrist. There are tiny superficial scratches, commensurate with age.
Signed screw down crown.
Excellent condition screw down with sharp writing. Inside is marked 165.024 (see pic).
The movement is the Cal 552 automatic movement, which has just been fully overhauled (Tax Invoice with work inclu...ded). Automatic winding, manual winding, and time setting are crisp. The previous owner did not request a full Extract; however, contact with the Omega Museum has confirmed "According to the archives, the MVT number 24.7xx.xxx corresponds to a ref ST 165.024, caliber 552, production February 22, 1967." The 24mil series are also seen into the first half of 1967. This email response will be supplied.
Full movement overhaul including new mainspring. Barrel bushings repaired, reverser serviced to Omega specifications in June 2019.
The dial is in excellent condition with even tritium lume and pinholes at 12 and 6 o'clock. T-Swiss Made-T is written on the dial at 6 o'clock but is obscured by the crystal ring (See photo of the dial out of case at service). Dial is original and not relumed - The lume on this dial is original and it is not a service dial (there were no Big Triangle service dials as far as people know). And there is no indication of a relume at all. In fact, this lume colour is very similar to other BTs from the time period, particularly the military BTs.
The bezel is correct Bi-directional clicking Tritium bezel in good condition. There are are few small cracks to the bezel at 10 o'clock and just before 12 o'clock, as seen in the photos. The bezel is in great shape considering that the majority of these bezels and their inserts have been severely punished and damaged by salt water and dirt over the years. Bezel bearing was replaced at service.
