Original Description:
Antique, early Bronze statue of a seated Imperial figure.Unusual because of the Chinese writing on the lower rear of the statue. If you know what it says, please share it with us.This statue is very finely cast. Its been covered with gold leaf and paint during its lifetime. In some places the surface layer has flaked away, revealing some fine detail in the bronze surface.About 7 1/2 inches tall.About 1.289 kg in weight.Good condition as shown. The left side of his hat has lost a piece... that would have extended down and in front of his upper ear.This is an early piece, Ming or early Qing at the latest. A very interesting example.
