Very rare Bissell & Moore Duplex saw. This saw was pictured in Tools Rare and Ingenious by Sandor Nagyszalanczy (can be pre-viewed on Google Books, p. 83). Of the two pictured on the web (see worthpoint.com and the Nagyszalanczy book), this is the only saw with both a Bissel & Moore etch and a Disston & Son etch. Additionally, this is the only saw with a H. Disston medallion (others with a “Warranted Superior” medallion). Both the Disston medallion and Disst...on & Son etch put the date of this saw around 1865 (see disstonianinstitute.com for dating etches and medallions). Condition (see pictures): etches are very strong; handle has been cracked and glued and has duct tape residue; one of the nuts is broken (see picture of back of handle); there is pitting on the plate. In "as found" condition.
