Up for auction is a rare 18th century Chinese export Qianlong period scenic meiping vase. This vase is a unique example and is labelled to the base “Made for the American market”. The vase is finely hand painted with paneled estate landscapes and other intricate designs. The vase came with its lid that appears original and of the same period.
The lid has an old repaired chip to the inner rim and is otherwise in fine condition. The vase itself has a 1 and 1/4 inch hairlines to the top rim as seen that could be restored if desired. For their early age the lid and vase are otherwise in substantially good condition with no further damage or repairs. The vase displays very nicely with lid measuring 12 inches tall, by 4 1/2 inches wide. I believe you do not see many of these unique examples come up for auction.
