This is an original vintage 1940s air compressor in High Art Deco style made by the Electric Sprayit Co of Sheboygan, WI.It is their model #356 and bears the manufacturing number 849 on the metal instructions plate screwed to the base.It is driven by a 1/3HP 120v electric motor made by Jack & Heintz Precision Industries Inc, Type JAHCO C1324-3 that rotates at 1750 RP...M - all that info is visible on the Rating Plate attached to the motor. The motor runs and the compressor works. Please note that i have drained the oil for shipping purposes - I will attach a warning label to the electrical cord plug insisting that the compressor be filled with oil prior to running it!It is precisely as you see it in the photos. I de-greased it to make it cleaner to handle, and drained the oil as previously mentioned, but that is all. It is in its original burgundy-red paint - that paint is scraped, scratched and absent in places, but it is the original finish and thankfully no one has tried to “improve” it by repainting it.It is a heavy sucker - altogether, the compressor, electric motor and baseplate weigh a mighty 44 1/4 lbs!
