Very Rare Royal Doulton Art Deco Crombie Golfers Series Ware Tobacco JarThis is a very rare piece from the seldom seen Royal Doulton Series Ware Golfers range, sometimes referred to as “Crombie Golfers” range. Rare also as it is a tobacco jar that is an unusual shape for any series ware pattern.It’s side is decorated with continuous scenes of caricature golfers in different situations on the course. These are representations of Charles Crombie’s 24 humorous Rules of Golf carto...ons published by Perrier in 1905. Royal Doulton issued this pattern between 19111 and 1932. Above the players there is a continuous countryside. It is marked to the base with the green Royal Doulton understamp of the period.It is a seldom seen shape that will appeal to both the series ware collector and the aficionado of tobacco related collectables.It is in excellent vintage condition; no damage of faults to report; some light wear and very light clean crazing.
