 ...; This fabulous vintage silk ombre colorful floral peacock embroidered Japanese kimono belted robe dates from the 1920s. It is made of a pink to blue ombre silk damask weave brocade fabric with a woven floral pattern design and colorful raised padded satin stitch hand embroidery work of flowers with French knot stamens and a pair of large peacock birds on the back, a symbol of love, compassion, good will, kindness and watchfulness. This pretty peacock kimono robe is a long floor length, with wide kimono sleeves, an open front with a matching ombre silk embroidered sash belt with fringe ends for closure, silk padded rolled bottom hem and is fully lined in a pink silk fabric inside. The robe measures 52 inches long, with a 44 inch chest, 44 inch waist, 21 inch long sleeves and a 63 inch long belt. It is in excellent condition. This is truly a rare and outstanding piece of Japanese wearable art!
