This antique Chinese blue silk wide embroidered sleeve band cuffs Manchu robe dates from the late 19th century during the Qing Dynasty. It is made of a bright royal blue color silk damask weave brocade fabric, with a woven butterfly, cherry blossom pattern design. There is colorful silk damask weave woven butterfly ribbon trim edging with scroll cut work appliques. There are light p...urple color silk wide sleeve band cuffs with colorful pastel embroidered Chinese women figures, bats, butterflies, flowers and gold thread couching heart accents. This magnificent Manchu womens court robe is a long knee length, loose fitting, with a front side opening toggles gold double gilt stamped floral carved buttons and knotted closures, long full wide sleeves cuffs and is fully lined in a burgundy red color silk lining with Chinese calligraphy inked characters inside the front collar (see close-up). The robe measures 36 inches long, with a 50 inch chest, 50 inch waist and 20 inch wide sleeve cuffs. It is in fair as-is condition, with areas of fade discoloration and some small faint stains on the front, sleeve cuffs and inside neckline lining (see close-ups). This is truly a wonderful piece of antique Chinese wearable art!
