This radio is a bit of a mystery, albeit a nice looking one. This radio is a wooden table top tube radio from the early to mid 1930's, judging by the style and the tube lineup. The only clue is there used to be a triangular label below the grille with the name of the set. All that remains is "tor". I've tried all sorts of searches and have come up empty. My only other clue is that the knobs are the same as were used on RCA and GE sets from the early 1930's.... 4 tube lineup, possibly a TRF set. The case is in good shape but there are some flaws. There is a piece of missing veneer on the back left of the top. There is also a piece of the grille lattice missing from the extreme bottom, though it was so hard to see I nearly missed it. Because of all these issues the reserve is quite low. This is a neat little radio though and the chassis has been fully restored, all tubes tested good and all capacitors have been replaced with their modern equivalents. As a result this radio does sound good across the AM broadcast band. The radio measures 11 1/2 inches long by 6 3/4 inches high by 5 inches deep. Weight is 7 lbs. (unpacked). Buyer pays shipping charges. Paypal only. Good luck, and check out my other auction for an awesome Zenith radio! On Jul-29-19 at 18:46:29 PDT, seller added the following information:
An alert eBayer has solved at least part of the mystery. The "tor" on what's left of the foil label is from "RCA Victor". This is therefore an RCA midget tabletop tube radio. I can't identify the model number but from comparison with other models with similar cabinets I would say that this is from the 1933 model year.
