Click images to enlarge Description The Educational series of 1896 $5 note displays the vignette of electricity presenting light to the world. The design features Liberty holding an Edison bulb thus casting light below. This was the era of electricity, as epitomized by the "White City" at the World's Columbian Exposition in 1893. The reverse design features portraits of President Ulysses S. Grant and Union General Philip Sheridan. The series of 1896 are one of the most well collected in all paper money and certainly is a must have for any collection!
Grade: PMG Fine 12, a pleasing example of the design, perfect for a type set.
