Up for sale is this pair of vintage (65+ years old) "The Tale Of Genji" decorative fans as well as the book by Murasaki Shikibu (translated to English). Each fan is hand painted and measures approximately 11-1/2" tall. Both are in excellent condition with no rips, holes or broken parts. Both come in their original protective cedar wood storage boxes. The book is softcover and almost 1100 pages and in very good condition with no ripped, loose or missing pages. This is the fifth printing from 1981.... An interesting note is that right now the New York Metropolitan Museum Of Art has a special exhibit on display of "The Tale Of Genji" objects and artifacts.
